I love how much fun Keira has with her pirate king. This is a swashbuckling romance, the M/M equivalent of a bodice ripper. Kidnapped By the Pirate by Keira Andrews. Two men meet in World War II when they are in their late teens, and spend their life together. This has been out for a while, but I just recently came across it. The glimpses of the world through Morgan’s eyes as he convinces Grant that he is more than his tics were lovely. Grant initially writes off Morgan because he thinks he would be taking advantage of the young man. Morgan is an artist, but people rarely see beyond his tics. Another book in which one of the main characters is autistic. In the Absence of Light by Adrienne Wilder. I found it heartfelt, sincere, and very romantic. It sounds like it would be a heavy read, but it wasn’t. The alternating point of view gave an interesting perspective on autism and depression. I loved this story of an autistic young man who decides the sad neighbor is the one he wants to woo. (No copyright claimed or implied in cover images!)Ĭarry the Ocean by Heidi Cullinan. I gathered together some recommendations of my favorite books in the genre. I’m always excited when I find a story with complex characters, elegant prose, steamy sex, believable plots and, of course, a happy ending. I love reading M/M romance as much as I enjoy writing it. If you’re looking for a new author or book, here are some of my recommendations.
